We are a family-friendly practice and encourage parents to introduce their children to regular dental check-ups from an early age. Our children are seen on the NHS until they turn 18 or 19 if in full-time education.
Our aim is to prevent decay by regular check-ups, advice and protective coatings on adult teeth as soon as they can be applied.

How Does It Work?
Tooth whitening involves the construction of custom-made, thin, flexible gum shields (whitening trays). These trays are ideally worn during the night with a whitening solution placed inside them. In 99% of cases, the teeth will lighten over a period of 12-14 nights.
Each tooth may lighten at a slightly different rate, so we review your progress during the whitening process. As the colour change happens slowly it is very controllable and can therefore be stopped as soon as the desired colour change has been achieved.
Tooth Whitening Process
- Pre-assessment whitening check and predicted result
- Impressions for and fitting of upper and lower whitening trays
- A standard amount of whitening solution (normally 8 syringes)
- Review appointments during the process
- Written and verbal instructions
Occasionally, some patients with discoloured teeth due to medical reasons may need more than the standard amount of whitening solution but this will be discussed at the assessment appointment.
Aftercare
Once the whitening procedure has been completed the teeth will never return to the darker colour again. Some patients do like to top up their whiter smile every couple of years by purchasing a syringe of whitening solution from us. Very few patients need to do this, but some like to.
Dental Fillings
People are more aware of their fillings and often as old silver ones need to be replaced, tooth coloured ones are placed instead, giving a very natural look to your restored tooth.
Tooth Removal
Occasionally teeth for one reason or another cannot be fixed / saved and need to be removed.
Dental Hygiene
We recommend that all of our patients have regular appointments with our hygienist to help prevent the onset of gum disease or to slow down an existing gum weakness.
